the uscrupulous types can get your personal information from "secure" sites if they are
monitoring those sites. Last year, I pretty much used my credit cards all the time online and
did all my holiday shopping online. If it had not been for my very vigilant mastercard co., I
never would have known until my card was maxed out. Thousands of dollars had been
charged in my name, I was responsible for none of it, but now my online habits have totally
changed.
So far the only places I have been that I am comfortable with are amazon.com and yahoo
wallet (for my J&SBSS purchases). I spent the next 3 months clearing up my credit rating and
dealing with fraud departments, even following things up with federal law enforcement.
The safest thing you can do is not give out your card # online or through email...
: just had to say, to whoever helped me the other day with my computer problems thanks a
whole bunch. my computer is fine now. I used some antivirus/spy ware killer thing and
everything on my computer is fine. this web board is now working for me, everything is
faster, nothing has frozen. so thanks again.

: whatever bug i had in my computer, i have no idea how i got it. i don't download at all,
unless you count porn and movies on real time and quicktime as being "downloaded". i also
don't open junk mail, though the other day i did open some spam by accident. i highly doubt
that could be it. a friend of mine thought it could be AIM, which sorta suprised me. Since I
don't download anything on the net how do you think its most likely I got this virus?
