what I loved about this era was movies like "Rebecca"...haunting yet not grotesque. Romantic, but not soft porn. There was no CGI but it didn't matter..the movie still roped you in and held you and made a memory..like Citizen Cane.
Back then the leading men were sophisticated and "dashing" and the women were stuning and refined. I used to be so in love with Cary Grant and Errol Flynn regardless of the fact that they died, or were ancient when I was born. I wanted to be Audrey Hepburn or Vivien Leigh.
