You guys say the same thing over and over and over and over...
:They are Al-Queda soldiers. We've killed them. That's the idea about war. Kill or be killed. You think we've been walking into houses and killing non-threatening civilians for shits and giggles? Hardly. I believe they found over 3000 bodies in one of the mass graves. All reports indicate that there have not been as many casualities as some of the media's leading you to believe.:
I really doubt any of you people give two shits about the 3,000 bodies they found in these numerous ass graves. They're a statistic to you. You use it to validate your point. That's cute and all, but it just won't fly. Yeah, there was a grave of bodies. Yeah, people got killed a lot over there. But how many die in the US every day from crime, starvation, disease? These are things we COULD fix. But God forbid we spend 87 billion dollars on shaping America up. Nooo. We have to go remake some fucking country nobody wants.
:Never heard anything about a famine over there. Must be news to me only then. I also recall the new government is starting to act upon themselves without our involvement.:
Yeah, but those tanks rolling through the street are a sure reminder.
:Let's see... Saddam signed an agreement to destroy and remove weapons of mass destruction back in 1991(?). Since then, he had not done so. He violated the agreement signed by the UN. We went in to remove him due to the agreement that he breached. Did he possibly move serious weapons before the war? There is a chance. I believe it to be so. One thing I disappoved about Bush was that he said that there will be an attack from us. Where and when, we won't tell. Two weeks later, he gave a deadline. That was rather stupid.:
Blah blah blah. Saddam Hussein is a lot of things, but he's not a RADICAL MUSLIM. A lot of people forget this. You got so piss-scared after 9-11, thinking that it's going be a no-holds barred Jihad kamikaze war. Saddam may have been a power-mad dictator, but he was no Hitler. And he wasn't completely retarded. He knew he had no chance of ever wielding any power outside of his country, and I doubt he'd risk all he had (palaces, God-like worship, billions of dollars) just to wage a fruitless war against the world's SUPERPOWER.
: Anyway, The UN unapproved thanks in part for Russia, Germany and France. The 3 countries refused to participate. 2 months ago, we found a hidden warehouse where they found hundred of crates of weapons. The crates from shipped from Germany, France, Saudi Arabia and Russia (though not as much as the other 3). The 3 countries that stopped the UN from helping were supplying Saddam. Does it take 2 + 2 here? Why us, Britain, Austrailia and Spain? Well, intelligence from the Clinton Administration was the source of the intelligence (which Clinton ignored) and we acted upon it with George Bush. Bush decided to act upon it. We have the manpower, technology and the force to do so. The UN Peacekeepers haven't done much good in the past 10 years with their support and actions. It was obviously going to be up to us. Were we acting like bullies? I don't see it that way. If somebody agreed with me on a contract on something, I'm going to make sure his side of the deal is going to be held up. Saddam didn't.:
So you're saying they had intelligence from any between 1992 and 1998 saying that Saddam had weapons? Well I found a TV Guide from 1997, does that mean I can watch the Single Guy on Must See TV tonight?
NO! And you know what, straight up, who really gives a shit if that looney was stockpiling viles of bioweapons he was NEVER GOING TO USE. You know who GAVE HIM those biological weapons?
DONALD RUMSFELD.
You wanna blame someone for giving Iraq their weapons, blame the USA. They were our ally up until the late 80's. Hell, we sent them tons of wacky shit to use against...Iran? I think. I'm not that up to date on boring Reagan politics.
:There is always that chance. Can't agrue too much there. Brainwashed people can only be taught what they know.:
You're tellin' me. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!
:Your example is a little extreme though.:
It had a certain cinematic flair to it, I'd agree, but there's going to be far more pissed off Afghanis than dead terrorists. Shit, if I was an Afghani, I would have joined long ago. Some foreign country bombing the fuck out of my home in hopes of randomly tagging terrorists? Yeah, that's a great plan.
:Wrongo. That sort of logic is like: "John Doe is on death row for mass murder. If we keep him on death row for life without parole, it's ok because our tax dollars are helping him eat better than the homeless and maybe he'll realize what he did wrong. And if we kill him, it's inhuman." We're keeping John Doe around for the wrong reasons. I assume you didn't see the torture video of Saddam's men back in October? That was brutal.:
At least two US soldiers have been court martialed for torturing captives from Iraq. Not just torture, but BRUTAL TORTURE. There's a camp called CAMP X-RAY where the initial suspects in the wide-spread, Constitution raping WAR ON TERROR have been kept since September of 2001. Since they're SUSPECTS FOR TERROR, they have no rights as US citizens, have subhuman living conditions. They can't speak English, and they're beaten when they can't respond to questions - because they can't UNDERSTAND them. The official statements say that the subjects imprisoned now are going to be there "indefinately" or until the War on Terror ends.
So you know, yes, Saddam Hussein was a brutal dude. He was. But so are we. And we're just brutal dudes with a bottomless wallet and nuclear weapons. Saddam did his evil to his people so they'd be able to see what kind of man he thought he was. We do our evil to others, out of view, so that regular people don't lose faith in America.
And death row is a tricky subject. If a man killed someone in the heat of passion, regrets it, and works hard to make sure he's a productive individual after his sentence is over, then he needs to walk free, cause he's a true man.
But if someone like Dahmer or Bundy came up to be saved, no. I wouldn't even give those weirdos a trial. I mean damn.
: hat makes you think this is about oil? That excuse is as passe as the old Mr. T cartoon. It has nothing to do with oil. We don't even get our oil from Iraq!!! Jesus. We have no need to apologize. Though Bush's approach on the situation was a little hasty and some measures could have been better timed, I still support our involvement. I'm an independant personally.:
It has to do with George Bush Sr.'s personal vendetta against Saddam, and Halliburton. There was a news story just yesterday about how that 87 billion is turning right around and lining the pockets of Dick Cheney's former company.
And we DO have to apologize. Whether or not people agree on the war, we still owe an apology. We directly defied the United Nations. I don't care what nations were the ones, I don't care what reasons they had. Point is, they're the United Nations, and the USA isn't above that. We are NOT the leaders of the world.
: Hearing idiotic celebrities like Dixie Chicks, Springsteen, Sheryl Crow and sadly, Ben Affleck talk about this in all of the media makes me sick. The last thing I want to do is going on Kev's website and hash it out even more. War sucks. I want our people to come back safe and sound. We have to do what is necessary though. As much as it seems to be, it is necessary for us to be there.:
What sucks more is dweebs who blindly support this campaign as America's true duty to the world despite the numerous articles of evidence to the contrary. Props to those celebrities using their ill-gotten status to actually speak out on something worth a shit. I'd rather hear them talk about the world and how they're going to use their comically excessive funds and pathetic idolation to do something about this injustice than hear another article on BENNIFER or how much cash that boozy fuck spent in Vegas last weekend.
: If it came down to Bush and any of the 9 Democrats, I'm going to go for Bush. At least he seems to know what to do in a position of power. Those 9 morons have no stance on anything except for to bashing Bush...Great leadership. One of the candidates (Dean I believe) said at Disney World in Orlando said that the African American people need to be able to get computers in order for them to catch up with us. My co-worker (who is black) said that "he's a fucking idiot for thinking that I can't afford a computer". Hearing stuff like that makes you wonder how some people can be nominated for such a position.:
Political correctness (thanks, conservative jackasses!) ruined America. We can't talk about the issues because they may OFFEND people. AWW!! Well fuck that, we need to talk about it regardless.
The fact of the matter is this country is too far along to be saved. It really is. We could get some great president in 2004, but he'd only be in there for a few years before the people really in power yanked him out and replaced him with another puppet.
Cut your losses and move the fuck to Canada before this place becomes another Nazi Germany.
You don't think it will?
"Ezekiel says that fire and brimstone will be rained upon the enemies of God's people. That must mean that they will be destroyed by nuclear weapons." - Ronald Reagan
Just wait.
: I respect your opinion but I feel it is not right.:
I'm sure you'll eventually figure it all out.
