There's an IKEA ad on TV which spoofs Judge Judy. In it, a woman is suing her upstair neighbor for crashing through the ceiling and ruining her bed.
The judge rules for the plaintif, and awards her $2000. She goes to correct the judge, as she bought her bed at IKEA and it cost MUCH less than that (of course), but the judge cuts her off with a Judy-esque "ZIP IT," says something about her ruling standing... and then brings down the gavel with a sharp "CASE DISMISSED."
Now... if the case were dismissed, wouldn't the whole thing be out the window and the plaintif's award be invalidated?
Drives me nuts.
