I did enjoy Demolition Man, but that might just have been because of Denis Leary... "Dont you hear a name, bouncing around in that barbaric brain of yours? The name Friendly. Edgar Friendly. Dont you have a job to do? Dont you have someone to kill?"

Though I do see the point of your theory, as it is Stallone playing his common "emotionless cop" characters. In a movie like Copland (I think that was the lame-ass name of it) you got to see just how capable his range was... and it scared me as well. You have to watch out with the "look at these similarities" threads, though... I could find ways to show you that Waterworld and Tank Girl are the same plot as well, though they are seeking the reverse of one another (dry land vs pure water).

That would be an insult to Tank Girl, though.

: Who else thinks these movies, while different, are essentially the same flick?

: Similarities...

: Cop movies
: take place in the future
: Dredd's bike malfunctions, Spartan can't make his car work
: stallone and schnieder in both
: the "thawing/cloning" climax

: It's almost like Demo Man is a North American version of the UK-based Judge Dredd...
