I think we can all agree that the originally Willy Wonka sucked hard, and its only saving grace was Gene Wilder. I can't think of more talented weirdo to fill Gene's shoes than Depp.

I was told that the whole idea for doing another version came from Burton himself. It'll be weird, and very tangent from the real story (Sleppy Hollow anyone?) but I expect it'll be great.
