...both are the best choices for this project. I loved what the two of them did on Sleepy Hollow. As I have never read the book and only seen the 1971 movie, I can't say what the overall tone 'should' be. Perhaps I should. I DID love the original movie though. A childhood fave. Gene Wilder was tremendous.
It will be under a LOT of scrutinization though....somebody somewhere isn't gonna be happy..
