Okay, so I'm fairly young. Young enough to not have been as exposed to the original Terminator movies as one would like (ie the original was made before i was born). So, as I am in the process of building a massive DVD collection, of course the quintessential action series made it into the pick, and over the weekend I sat on my fat ass and conducted my own, personal, uninterrupted Terminator marathon - and I have to share that that is the best fucking action series ever. Fuck Arnie's other stuff. Fuck Jean Claude VanDam. This is the Real McCoy. The best part? The story is not some watered-down bullshit - this is some real intriguing, thought-provoking stuff. My only disappointment was that the original crew, most importantly Linda Hamilton and James Cameron, did not support the last installment, Rise of the Machines. I really don't understand how they couldn't, however; the ending was absolutely amazing, and the whole movie was quite in the Terminator style of the first two (and I refrain from saying exactly because they weren't exact in style - 12 years difference and a new director will do that but they certainly did their best), so not seeing Sarah Connor and having to hear some off-the-cuff hole-covering story brought about her death brought it down a little. But overall, the series is definitely worth owning and watching again for old-times sake, or watching for the first time if you haven't. Other opinions?
