: i have two girls, and they are all i ever wanted. the things you have shared here will sink into my subconscious and help me make sure they grow up with as positive a view on men and maleness as i can possibly generate.
: granted, they have a love for all things star wars and lord of the rings due to me, but surely we, together, can work through these obstacles, right?
: i wish your daughter the best of luck, i know you did a fab job raising her, and she'll be dandy for herself first, and for someone else, if she so chooses.

: ps: should i stop asking them if they want to go the 'mommy store' when my wife makes a dreadful dinner?
When my daughter's father left (April 1972), it was a rare thing. Had he maintained contact with her, then things would have been different. He messed up because he wasn't man enough to face his responsibilities. He wasn't even paying child support and I was too weak and introverted to do anything about it. But I grew and got the nerve to get child support when my daughter was 16. That really pissed him off and that's why he disowned her when she turned 18. Today, I am strong, my daughter is strong, and he suffers from bleeding ulcers and other stress-related ailments. Poor schmuck.
