First of all, never said marriage therapist. This was almost 20 years ago. Did they even exist then?

Secondly, it happens every day, in every city. This was not my exact situation, but have you thought about spouses that are habitually physically abusive to their partners? What advice do they get? GET OUT, and take your children with you. God... I seriously want you to go up to some woman who has suffered at her husband's hands, and tell her... "You know, this is your fault, too."
And is there some reason why you didn't answer my question to you? Why can you have sympathy for your father, and yet my mother 'abandoned' my father?
