told him to make the movie. And Kevin's movie wasn't supposed to be a "documentary." Kevin got flack because he made a comedy about religion that actually made people think. It's called the "squirm factor" and many religious phanatics couldn't handle it. Kevin's movie was never intended to offend or hurt anyone and I'm willing to bet that a very small percentage of people who actually saw it found it offensive. Those people may have been more offended by the profanity than by the religious content of the film. By the way, "Dogma" was the first Kevin Smith movie I saw (at age 54)and I was instantly hooked.
