Hey Gabe. I saw the film, I didn't find it offensive, and I'm a Christian. I didn't find it offensive violence wise because according to historical accounts about crucifixion, all that stuff and more actually happened. Things like the beating with the cat of nine tails, the actual crucifixion, the sword in the side, the breaking of the legs so they couldn't get up to breathe anymore, that's how it happened. I'm actually kind of offended at other Jesus movies that kind of gloss over Christ's sufferings. As far as other Christians being offended, I don't know. I go to a very conservative Bible college (many of the attendess probably think I'm going to hell for being a fan of Kevin's work) and they are all excited to see it. I just find it ironic that they are okay with all the violence and the R rating since it's about Jesus, but as far as any other subject matter goes, then it's strictly forbidden. So that's my two cents on it.
