The Bible is all about the Jews. The first half is the same Bible (the Old Testament) follows God's chosen people. The Israelites (aka Jews) were Gods chosen people, until He sent His Son to fulfill past promises. So you can't say that the Bible portrays Jews poorly, you can maybe say that of the New Testament, but even that is difficult to do. Because Jesus and the disciples were all Jews and for all intents and purposes were Jewish until even after Jesus was crucified. Christianity didn't really become what it was until it really began to set itself apart from Judaism as a large body of people.
But the Jews at the time definitely were definitely responsible for killing Jesus. This is why it is getting a bad rap. Because it makes the Jews seem more vicious than even the Bible portrays them. Or so it seems. Maul's review a fair bit down the board is pretty good, as he is coming at it from a Christian perspective.
People should be able to separate the Jews of today with the Jews of 2000 years ago who killed Jesus Christ.
