: I'm sure that this has been brought up constantly, but after reading the letter on newsaskew.com, it seems very unlikley that it is in fact from him.
:
: First, let's start off with the blatant failure to even do fact checking. The writer accuses Kevin of Being "anti-American", looking back, I can't think of anything that would even come close to this statement. In fact, The Roadside Attrractions bit is to show off the many great attractions that one can view in different American cities. The writer also claims that Kevin promotes homosexuality and promiscuity, two claims that obviously came from "Chasing Amy" and have no merit what so ever.
: In what has to be the biggest case of mis judgement, the writer claims that Kevin makes fun of religious people everywhere, and in the film "Dogma" called christ a racial slur and that the character of Bethany was Jesus' daughter. Any one who ever read any piece of press for the film knows that "Dogma" was a film born out of Kevin's religious upbringing. Why would someone with a heavy religious background try and tear down something that played such a prominent role in his childhood. Also, the writer uses the racial slur in the article, something a politician would never do- ESPICIALLY this close to an election. No matter what they're view, they would never use the actual word, it would cost them too many voters. Also, in reality, Bethany is this generations representitive of a long line of descendents from Christ- a minor plot discrepency, but still an error.
: In the second half of the letter, the writer moves to simple threats and insults. He or she claims to be able to get the president not to be able to appear on the tonight show. He/she goes on to say how Leno should do them a favor, and that this is a warning, and if it is not dealt with, a large war with NBC will start. Now, think back, how many politicians have time to start a war with a broadcast station, and call it a favor? This signals that the Bush administration did a favor for NBC, and are doing shady politics. Once again, we are in an election year, the possibility of this happening are even less. In what seems like a middle school popularity assault, the writer then states how Kevin isn't even a popular celebrity, I think we can all disagree with that, especially with all of the press Jersey girl has been getting latley.
: THe letter starts off saying that he is a representitive of the VP and his wife, but ends it saying that he is the VP himself. Isn't this illegal? The tone of the letter also changes midway through, between rep and VP.
: A kid with too much time on his hands? Maybe. A Dogma prtestor still bitter? Possibly. Vice President of the United States? Not likley.
