It's up to him to get the performances from the cast.
I could be wrong.
They don't just show up on the set .
There is preparation .


: I know Dogma is a lot of people's first or second pic, and I may be the only one that like it least. I don't expect to sway anyone.

: I like it least for an essay's worth of reasons, but Linda's performace is up there. I feel like every line she delivered with her eyelids half closed like she was ready to pass out. She SO could have really explored the character and BECAME Bethany. She could have given the character a spectrum or emotions and some depth. Instead, she was just like, "Oh...hey...you guys are profits...get me out of this fuckin' movie." That's what I saw.

: I will say, though, that she was good in the train scene with Ben.

: I love Dogma, but like Xtian said, it could have been much more.
