: A lot of steroid use in hockey in particular?
-Probably no more or less than other pro sports.
It just (although, honestly, I don't follow the sport and only just read the article at Sports Illustrated.com) seems to be SUCH a violent sport. So I was wondering if perhaps some of the fights were caused in part by roid rages or something.
-Possibly. The real reason for them is that it is part of the "Code" of the NHL that is supposedly meant to protect players by allowing, if not outright MANDATING that the players to dish out their own sentences to other players. But, this accomplishes nothing. Ok, now that that guy "retaliated" and broke that guys neck, there will be MORE retaliation for that... It's just an endless cycle until every player is crippled.
-Xtian will love the mandating part...
