Can someone explain this JG tidbit for me please?

I came across this online newspaper article dated Dec. of last year (or 2002 - I can't remember):

"Truth be told: Lopez couldn't be further from that block in the Bronx where she grew up. She's on Easy Street these days, although superstardom isn't always so easy. The singer-actress-diva just wrapped a scene with Affleck for their upcoming romantic comedy "Jersey Girl," directed by Kevin Smith.

"Ben and I were in this horse-drawn carriage, filming the end of the movie, which is supposed to be this quiet moment between the two of us," Lopez says, shaking her head. "I guess the paparazzi thought it was a good photo op. All of a sudden in the middle of Jersey, someone screams, 'They're in a horse-drawn carriage--get them!' We were surrounded, the horses were spooked and it was crazy!'""

I'm not sure how an ending w/Ben & Jen in JG would have fit. Nor have I ever heard about this.

I've seen JG only once, but I'm pretty sure a scene like this was not in the movie (especially the end).

Is this true? A misquote? A scrapped ending? Anyone?
