Man'o'man I don't know why the ladies leave the Passin' O Christ dabbing at their eyes.
That shite was emotional pornography and goofy to boot.
Drive a nail thru someone's hand & then a 10 inch plank and blood dribbles off the spike's point? All the way through all that wood?
Trying to raise my gorge, not my spirit.
You want good honest emotion.
FUTURAMA
Man, the one last night on the cartoon channel killed me and my lady.
Pretty funny for about 20 minutes.
Frye finds his petrified pooch at the old pizza shop and Bender gets jealous. The old professor is about to Herbert West the dog til the readout says he was 15 at death.
Frye smashes the machine, knowing the dog had 12 years of life after he, Frye, was gone.
Then they play a love song,
something about "I will wait forever..."
And show how the dog spent those 12 years: pining away in front of the pizza shop waiting for Frye to come back.
Dog lays it's head down for the eternal nap and the credits roll.
a fucking cartoon made me cry.
The short story Isabelle, by george saunders, has the same effect, but in an uplifting way.
