well, the version i d/l (2.0 alpha1) did have a password file and from looking at the perl file it just used crypt to encrypt the password entered for the admin account and compare that against what's stored in the file. i assumed additional users were done by the same method.
if this site uses an older version of wwwboard and p/w were custom added by you odds are very high you use this method or simply store a md5hash or somethign similar for the user entered password, either way it is reproduceable and can be converted to many other things
whether you used aes, des, md5, blowfish, or any of 20 other encryption algorithms i could port it form the perl/cgi method used by WWWboard to c, c++, ruby, php, vb, java. hell i can break out my old fortran and cobol books and convert it to that too if i wanted. just because you haven't done it doesn't mean it can't be done.
but like my subject says, this topic is dead, i posted a question, everyone answered, i only reply to this because i don't like people questioning my programming ability, it's what i do, do it now to make my computing tasks easier, hopefully in a few years will be doing it to "earn my keep"
