Only more proof that Robin Williams is a funny guy.
I saw only two interesting points that sprang from this.
1) If Howard The Duck was lame before, is it going to lose anything by having Howard be CGI? It's not an ET guns-phones, or a Star Wars Greedo shooting first angle (neither of which bothered me that much), but a change to a film that was never truly loved.
2) George Lucas isn't as robotic as people say. He's just a guy who happens to have a different angle on life. I say kudos to him if he wants to change the old Star Wars Films, and Howard The Duck. I have rose-tinted memories of watching the Star Wars films at X-Mas on television, but I'm not a die-hard fan. I don't get the uproar over him not releasing the originals. Comparing them to the Special Editions, I don't think anything truly important is lost. It's the same story, the same characters, the same events, just polished up to match today's C.G.I. standards.
(Ps... Flame me all you want, but The Phantom Menace is actually (in my view) a pretty damn good slice of escapist entertainment.)
