Kevin called in one morning and before he was brought on the air, Howard mentioned that Kevin had been trying to get on the show previously, but that Stern said 'No.'
Kevin said that was not true. Gary claimed that either Kevin or one of his reps had called in to try to get Kevin on. Kevin had been on before with Mewes and another time with Rock. But Gary was claiming he had tried to get on other times and was refused.
Kevin sent a tape with a note that stipulated it couldn't be played without Kevin first setting it up. The note indicated that it was a tape of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez talking about Howard Stern.
So after some initial ball-busting by Howard, who mentioned that a lot of people didn't know Kevin and his films (Robin spoke up for Kevin saying she loved JSBSB), Kevin played the clip that was initially included in Jersey Girl.
Kevin also plugged An Evening With Kevin Smith.
Things just got off to a bit of a rocky start that morning and I guess that's what Kevin was referring to.
