A grown woman with the nickname of "Stanka" told me that her first name is prounced sha-tonn-yuh. But spelled: Shitonya.
I met a cute little girl with an interesting twist on the name "Ashley." She has an extra syllable in it, so her name is prounced ash-uh-lee, but is spelled: Asshole.
My friend is a kindergarten teacher and has this young girl and the daughter of the woman in her class right now, these aren't jokes (but even if you don't believe me, they're still great stories, right?).
