...for convincning me to see it. It was amazing. I've seen Mystic River, I've seen Lost in Translation, and I can say without any apprehension that this movie had the best acting of 2003. I could have seen this movie taking the place of any of this years Best Picture Nominees (yes, even Return of the King--but if that were pulled before Lost in Translation...!). The lighting was very cool and it was a great story. But this was a performance flick. Save one--a minor part with a total of 1.5 minutes screentime who would have been more powerful had you never seen her--there isn't a single mediocre performance in this thing. NOt to give the impression that I'm an Oscar snob, but if Jennefer Connely not getting a best actress nod isn't a snub, I don't know what is. Anyway, I was in limbo last night about weather to make the grunt to the theater to catch it. Asked for some feedback on this board, simbeau's reply--althoug mello--was the final straw. Now I've seen a really, really fantastic flick. Thanks
