: Your post was one of the more interesting I've read in a long time, so thanks again for responding. You've educated me.
Yeah, I know what you mean. After doing screening reviews and whatnot, I got shit like "you don't what you're talking about," and "you have no idea what people went through to make the movie that you just so slammed based on an incomplete work" (being scripts of test screenings).
So ya know what? I decided to take the plunge and put myself in their position, and Kevin allowing me the opportunity to follow the flick from point A to point Z certainly broadened my horizon on and made me think twice about just tossing in a casual remark or two within a review that may not necessarily be fair to the flick or filmmakers.
It was an out of body experience of sorts being on the opposite side for a change and seeing flippant comments and remarks being tossed around on AICN - and many times seeing info that I knew for fact was being posted or talked about incorrectly. You sort of feel like a parent all the sudden whose put on the "D" and now feels the need to protect their child from potential on-line molesters. It was weird, but I can see what affect the site can now have on a flick and the people behind it, especially that early on in the stage of production.
AICN and early comments made by Harry were the alledged number one reason that 'BATMAN AND ROBIN' failed at the box-office and among fans. Several media reports and studio officials cited Harry and AICN as being the key reason.
But don't get me wrong though, sometimes a bad flick is just simply that - a bad flick.
And even though WB may blame him for helping diminish the BATMAN franchise, he's now pumping Nolan's 'BATMAN BEGINS' on the site, excited about what he's heard and read about the project.
Also Harry's a real good guy. Heart's in the right the right place, even though the site may at times not seem to be. But if you've ever met the guy or spoken to him, he's not too different from the way Kevin is with his fans - very cordial, appreciative and gracious and LOVES film unlike anyone else I know.
