Went to the beach, and had sex with multiple partners while sustaining myself with meals of whiskey and bread....
Ok, ok... so I just stayed home and worked for Spring Break... I'm barely a damn college student. They're going to kick me out for not passing out on a beach somewhere.
Anyway, my girlfriend was here all week, and we actually did have a St. Patty's Day party. It was ok, but the girl's house we were at got really drunk, so I had to take over the responsibility of taking care of the house. Oh, has anyone heard of taking out the shelves in the dish washer, and making it like a giant ice chest? My girlfriend's moron brother suggested this... apparently they've done it before, and its good for getting rid of the ice quickly; you just turn on the washer, and all of the ice melts. Well, the washer wouldn't close, and someone tried to force it closed, then it wouldn't turn on, so everyone thought it was broken by the end of the night, so whenever the girl who lives at that house sobered up, she was pissed, and that was pretty much the end of the party.
I also saw 4 movies this week; I will rank them for you, and you guys sort through them.
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Great movie. One of the best movies I've seen in a LONG time. Strange movie for Jim Carrey, like Punch Drunk Love was for Adam Sandler, but Carrey has been trying to be a more serious actor lately with Man on the Moon, The Majestic, and way before with Cable Guy, and I think he took full advantage with this movie. He even got to be goofy in some scenes... I saw the movie last night, and might go see it again with a friend tonight. Its that good.
2. Dawn of the Dead - So, I don't know bout this movie. I've had many explanations for a couple of my concerns, but I am not really accepting those. It was a fun movie, but I don't think it was nearly as good as 28 Days Later, and now I will defend 28 Days Later while comparing it to this. 28 Days was more than a horror movie; I think it has significance as a social commentary rather than just a fun horror movie, which I feel is all Dawn is. Dawn is an entertaining movie, but thats all I felt for it. It had a great soundtrack, and sometimes I enjoyed the ambience of the scenes, but I still felt that 28 Days Later did the same things, but better, and before. Would the zombies have been fast if 28 Days Later hadn't come out a year or two ago? The digital camera from 28 Days was great, and some of the scenes from Dawn felt like they were straight up trying to copy those. I mean, the whole of Dawn wasn't shot with that digital camera, just certain shots that they threw in there. I'm gonna be ridiculed for this, and yes I realize that Dawn is a remake of the original Romero movie, and part of a trilogy, so... if you are going to criticize, do it with something else.
3. Starsky & Hutch - this could be #2... I don't know, I feel that Dawn and this were both just kinda mediocre. Anyway, I figured this would be a lot funnier, considering the director of Old School did this. But I don't know... they took the subject matter TOO seriously it appeared sometimes. Just wasn't that funny... Vince Vaughn and Snoop Dogg were the funniest parts. Most of the humor of the movie was tongue in cheek.
4. Secret Window - I know this movie is at the bottom at least, and Eternal Sunshine is at the top. This was just... eh. I thought Depp was great, but there wasn't much else redeeming about this. Story was kinda unoriginal, and predictable. I'll probably never see it again. 2 & 3 I'll at least rent, and 1 I'll own. But this... nah.
