First of all, I don't think it matters if it's taken. Hell, someone is putting out a DVD called Jersey
Girl this week. You're only screwed if it is taken and was popular.
Hard to nail down, as we don't have too much context...
I would probably look for something in a famous, or not so famous quote on some of the themes
of the novel, and then pull out a few words, but then you can put the full quote to into the book,
if it captures the theme:
Such as calling it "Nothing But the Truth" but then inside the book, include:
"One owes respect to the living; but to the dead one owes nothing but the truth.
--Voltaire [Francois-Marie Arouet]"
Lots of options online, just Google "death quotes":
"The Mystery of Death": The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death. --Unknown
"Dawn has come...": Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn
has come. --Rabindranath Tagore
Used before for the Robin Williams movie, but just a reminder that Shakespeare, Auden, Keats,
and such are always good for quotes:
"For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come.
--William Shakespeare Hamlet"
Thankfully, I already know the titles of all three books I plan to write (book one almost done),
and none are taken. So, I'll have to watch and make sure you don't step on my turf. :-)
Good luck.
