you possibly updated it, but it wasn't really an update, it was a faux version of quicktime, and its a nasty virus.
But thats all I know.
: Cause lately, as noted or not noted by my absence, my computer has been eaten alive by adware and spyware. It sucked major. I couldn't go online without it locking up. And, it would also go online by itself, and even sometimes restart my machine. When the tech guy came the final count was 40 different programs all trying to run at the same time. But, all of them aren't gone, and I am suspicious of a program called Quicktime, or what calls itself Quicktime, just like the apple movie viewer.
: I have the real program on my computer, and its icon is 2D. But, this thing appears over on the left, by the time instead of over by the start menu on the right, and it is a 3D Q that resembles the regular quicktime icon, but the colors are off. It also will link directly to apple, but even there, I didn't see a new quicktime icon or anything. Oh, and a lot of pop ups stop coming up once I exit it.
: Is this simply a new version of Quicktime that I don't remember downloading, or does it sound like an adware or spyware program? And, if anybody is familar with this maybe a little help to get rid of it....please...
