He's obviously never had to work for a corporation that would force you to stick around even after the end of the work day or had to meet a deadline that would keep him at the office.

The Army loves to do that to us, you know.

The ability to suspend disbelief and the ability to relate to a movie are the two things that can make them truly gripping. I'm doubting an atheist would find a movie like The Passion of the Christ moving, nor would a Ku Klux Klan member find Schindler's List to be interesting. If you can't relate to a subject, it's not going to effect you.

This is why a love element was thrown into Titanic. I don't know anyone affected by the actual Titanic and I wouldn't relate. But toss in some love story and a naked Kate Winslet and I can relate to wanting love and loving boobies.
