One thing I prefer about Play Station is that you can even play PS1 games (and CDs/DVD's) in a Play Station 2. That's something Nintendo never did. You can't take Super Mario Bros 3 and shove it in a famicom or a game cube, expecting it to play. Sony had their brains on the ball when they came out with the standard format of games (standard disc shape) so you can play Tomb Raider 2 in your PS2, probably even in your PS3, for that matter. While on the other hand...playing Excitebike on your N64 is not possible... :(
