That's bullshit. The NHL wants the Canadian teams to lose because their ratings are worse than bowling and no American is going to tune into ABC to watch two Canadian teams. Considering that the NHL's television deal is almost up, this would be devestating to the NHL.
Take the ratings that the Stanley Cup finals got last year. Subtract 100% of those ratings and that's what you'd get if the Flames faced the Leafs in the finals.
