And back to the subject of Snopes - it's also a great way to get rid of "friends" you can't stand. Especially if they're the type to no blind carbon copy - you just find the myth, get the URL for it, hit "reply all" and humiliate them in front of their family and friends. Most the time they'll just block you or remove you from their lists. Occastionally they'll send you an e-mail saying how you're a horrible person for not believing that Mr. Roger's had tattoos or that bad guys hide under cars waiting to slash women's ankles.
