: Five Favorite Auteurs in Cinema (this means all time, in any country: how different is this list if you don't count horror?)
Spielberg, Kubrick, Shyamalan, Burton, and Tarantino. (If I don't count horror then replace Shyamalan with Kevin. Shyamalan is really the only horror director thats appealed to me. But I haven't seen to many horror films to be honest.)
: Five Directors working today who you look forward to for their next project:
Kevin's Green Hornet, Shyamalan's The Village, Sommers's Van Hellsing, Spielberg's War of the Worlds, and Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards
: Film Criticism, do we need it? (I strongly believe so, but others on this board don't):
They are good when observed in a mass group of critics, but bad if you only listen to one.
: Do you think that the press and the masses tend to say horror films are "thrillers" once they reach critical acclaim?
A thriller is just a wide genre, they don't need to be critically acclaimed or even horror. Thrillers could just as well be spy movies or disaster films. Pretty much anything that's thrilling.
