"Palma apestosa" and the translation of the title is: modern young men.

I have been to mexico and after seeing the locals I am pretty sure that the spanish word for "stinkpalm" would be the same as "hand."
I´ve been at Brian´s house and im sure that the spanish word for his moms name is PUTA. . . And another thing, that translation of "Jovenes Modernos" is BAD ! BAD ! BAD ! It sucks ! But hey . . . if Titanic is translated as "Una historia de heroismo y amor" ( A story about an hero and love ) Kidding but . . . sometimes it happen. Mexican translators ( movie titles ) suck big time.
I don't blame our Spainish friends for enlarging the picture of Shannon Doherty. She is a hot chick....

but is understood to mean: Modern Young Adults

This is not the spanish version of "Mallrats"!
It might be a latin american version of the film.
"Mallrats" was released in Spain only in a few big cities, and only subtitled original version (great!). But it was with the tittle "Mallrats". It had the original poster art.
In his released in DVD (a sad empty edition) it has this video-release art with the tittle "Mallrats".
By the way, the traslation isn't as acurated or funny as it shoul be. For example Wolverine in Spain is known by the name of Lobezno, but in the dubbed version it has the name Carcayu.

it should be a latino american version, cause i've got a spanish version and it calls "mallrats", just mallrats....
that's true - who the hell is carcayu? and the translation of "mad fat chick killer"? completely fucked up!!! "el rompecorazones"! una mierda rompecorazones!!!and the worst thing is that there's no translation for "snootch on the nooch" or "snoogans", they just missed it in "dogma" and "mallrats", and i think these are the most "jay" phrases....
