Hotels

Unless you live in the area, you'll probably want to crash for a night or two before or after the event.  Also, the hotels are often where parties are happening, and where celebrities sometimes show up.  For the Dogma Screening in '99, DJ Andeee found a batch of hotels that provided us with more room options, decent rates, and a better area to gather before and after the numerous jaunts into Red Bank.  We've used these three ever since, and the events have always been a success.  So this year, we once again present DJ Andeee's Eatontown Trifecta:

Holiday Inn Tinton Falls  700 Hope Rd. - Eatontown, NJ  732-544-9300

Marksman's review
:  "This is the place to be, all because of Morgan's the too cool bar and restaurant downstairs with plenty of room to hang out, eat, watch TV, and meet & greet with fans.  Most of the overnighters will gather here before heading into Red Bank, and it's a good idea to carpool from here since the parking downtown sucks.  If you feel like throwing a room party, the suites here are a good pick.  Just watch out for Mr. Lynch, the crazy, drunken, homicidal staff manager."

Don't forget: When you reserve a room here, tell them you're with the View Askew Group.  The group rate for a regular room is $69 per night.

Red Roof Inn  11 Center Plaza - Eatontown, NJ  732-389-4646

Marksman's review
:  "The Red Roof will always have the cheapest rates of the three, and you can park right outside your door which is convenient, but that's about it.  The place has no social value whatsoever.  Bottom line:  Convenient, sanitary, and affordable, but boring as hell."

Don't forget:  The rate for a regular room is $59 per night.

Sunrise Suites  3 Center Plaza - Eatontown, NJ  732-389-4800

Marksman's review:
"DJ Andy and I listed this hotel for two years, but I don't think anyone actually stayed there, or even walked into the place. They only have suites, and with that kinda dough, you could spring for a suite at the Holiday Inn where the action is.  Then again, they have a pool here and the Inn doesn't.  Bottom line:   Who knows?  Looks like a neat place from the outside anyway."
