Digital Cinema Screen Of "Dogma"
Digital Projection And Lions Gate Entertainment Preview An Electronic Screening Of The Star-Studded Movie At ShowEast

Digital Projection, Inc. - a wholly owned subsidiary of Imax Corporation - today announced it will join with Lions Gate Entertainment to preview its latest movie, Kevin Smith's DOGMA, in an all-digital format.

The screening will take place October 20 as part of a cinema industry trade show (ShowEast, Atlantic City, Trump Taj Mahal, Xanadu Theatre) and offer attendees a first-hand glimpse of the star-studded film projected digitally. DOGMA, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, will be transferred from its native celluloid film format to HDTV, an ultra-high-resolution digital video format, and displayed electronically on the Xanadu theatre's 40-ft. screen via a Digital Projection POWER Display electronic projector.

Yet to be released to mass market cinemas, "Dogma," "a raucously funny satire," received exceptional reviews at the Cannes, New York and Toronto film festivals.

"We are thrilled to present a feature length digital movie at the upcoming ShowEast convention. While the concept of 'end-to-end' digital cinema is still well in to the future, we are always happy to show off what we can do today. "Dogma" offers us the opportunity to screen a truly unique and inspired film on today's latest digital display technology," said Chuck Collins, Digital Projection’s National Market Development Manager.

"Lions Gate Films is proud to collaborate with Digital Projection on a special digital screening of Kevin Smith's ‘Dogma,’" said Tom Ortenberg & Mark Urman, Co-Presidents of Lions Gate Films, Releasing.
