You're talking about the difference between High-Defintion Pro Digital
(used in THE PHANTOM MENACE) and consumer NTSC Digital (which is what the
poster above is asking about)- that's not unlike the difference between a
DVD and a ratty VHS tape.

High-Def has the approximate resolution of Super-16 film, and since ALL of
PHANTOM MENACE was scanned from film to digital at 2K resolution (HD
resolution) then outputted back to film after being processed to death, in
the end there wasn't much of a difference between the HD material and
material that was originated on film
