I believe that mult zone players are legal, they just aren't made by the manufacture since Hollywood wants more control over their movies and how they are released world wide. I think mult zone players are void of a warranty and that is about it. I was lucky I got a Sony 7000 with switches inside to turn off both macrovision and region coding. You can buy multi zone players off the net or modification kits for certain players.
