: I think everyone is really understating Anderson's performance in Clerks. I thought he did a great job, anyone could have played Dante, but there was a certain subtlety about the way that Randall was portrayed that I don't think anyone, not even Lee could have pulled off. It would be a mistake to make a second Clerks film without him

I agree, but I don't think that them NOT being in it is even a possibility. Since Kevin has them reprising the roles vocally in the forthcoming TV series, then I'd say it's a safe bet that they will be back in the flesh for the sequel. I mean, I would have understood having someone else do the voices for the show (how often do they ever get the original actors to voice the characters in a cartoon spin--off?), so if Kevin wants them for that then he must be pretty hell-bent on keeping them as Dante & Randal.

, and quite frankly, I think he got shafted in his role in Dogma, I was expecting more from him.

I did too, but just hearing that voice again got me considerably jazzed (as well as several others in the theater).

: Having someone else play Randall would be like telling Mark Hamill that he wasn't a good enough Luke Skywalker, and they were going to replace him with John Travolta, because he could bring it ticket sales.

Hamill WASN'T a good enough Luke. I wish someone did tell him. Harrison Ford is the lifeblood of those movies.
