: The thing I'm wondering is - Will Clerks 2 be the ultimate Jersey flick Kevin has hinted about in the past? Will Jason Lee play Brodie and Banky? Will Ben play both heart-broken Holden and ass-bleeding Shannon? That would be quite an amazing feat that may or may not work.

Yanno... I realized when I was watching Dogma that, to date:

-Dante closely resembles a news correspondent, an MTV exec, and a publicly humiliated loser on a game show (well, okay... he's the cousin of the game show loser)

-Brodie Bruce bears a striking resemblance to a once-successful comic book creator / tracer, and a demon

-Local Red Banker-cum comics success story Holden MacNiel looks a lot like pederast jailbird Shannon Hamilton, not to mention a fallen angel (of all things)

-Gwen Turner could easily be mistaken for lesbionic comics-creator Alyssa Jones

And then there's the fact that Willem Black either gained a shit-load of weight and shaved his beard OR he got off the weed and got a job for Brandi Svenning's dad, started a fight at a comics convention, and was ultimately blown away on a bus for cheating on his wife. (Willem got married?)Oh... and he ruined Dante's day by launching off the ONE ball brought for the hockey game.

AND... a certain shell-shocked guidance counselor seems to have an identical son who has a thing for criticizing sell-out artists, loves Stan Lee's work, hates abortion doctors, and drags poor Walt Flanigan around with him everywhere he goes.

And, yes... there are plenty more where they come from. So what's my question?

WHEN ARE JAY AND SILENT BOB GONNA PICK UP ON THIS SHIT??? I was desperately waiting for Jay to say SOMETHING in Dogma. ("Azrael... didn't the Easter Bunny beat the shit out of you before?" "Damn, Barry... so Fingercuffs broke up with you. Get over it!")

I know Kev's a better writer than I am. Perhaps he figured that kind of thing would be a little too "Hot Shots Part Deux." Still... I think it might have been a *little* funny.

Anyone else?

-Robert Howard

PS: Kevin, if you read this... I LOVED DOGMA! Best script written in years... best picture for '99, in my opinion. Congrats to you for putting a film out there that wakes people up and shows that quality in screenplays is still vital to a good film.
