Just to be in God's prescence, for a moment, again... the lack of which had pained him for so long... was all the blessing in the world he ever wanted. To be back with God. That momentary respite was God's compassion, I mean, He/She could'a had Metatron or anything kill him... but God's compassion was to look him in the eye and hold him before ripping him to pieces and sending him to hell.

And then, the other part of God, God's fury.

But that little moment of renewed communion was enough to give thanks for, even in the face of death and eternal damnation.
