So... I just finished watching Jaws for the first time. Now I knew that there where some lines taken from Jaws in Kevin's movies, but wow! I didn't know how much influence there was in them. Like in Mallrats there's T.S. Quint (Quint the dead sea captian), and Brodie (Sheriff Brody the unwilling shark hunter). Then in Chasing Amy there's Hooper X (Hooper the oceanographer) and the whole scar comparing scene is almost directly taken from Jaws.

I don't mean that I think this detracts from Kev's writing style, the opposite in fact. It's awesome. I just thought I might share with anyone else who has been living under a rock with me.
