I actually enjoyed PHANTOM MENACE and posted heere about that, but I find his current method of filmmaking to be, quite frankly, soulless- I read the AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER article on PHANTOM and was, well, put off- the concept of cutting and pasting performances, digitally replacing lip movements... I'm sorry, but that just makes the whole filmmaking experience "soulless" in my eyes.

Sure, some of you film snobs try to get intellectual and over-analytical about the medium, but you have to step back once and a while and realize that it's all just about story-telling. Pure and simple. Those who deny that and try to put filmmaking on a pedestel are the soulless ones.

I made one very imperfect little film and am on the verge of making my second- it'll be a LONG time before I ever consider myself "the shit". I don't come on here and brag- I NEVER HAVE!!! I come on here and offer up my opinions, give out info re: View Askew, etc.

I struggled along with Kevin in the early days, got him interested in filmmaking to begin with, and when he had the means he helped me out. PERIOD. So as to your accusation, FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot fucking believe that you took such great offence to my personal dislike of most of George Lucas' output. I am SO FUCKING SORRY that I don't worship the ground the man walks on. Personally, I feel as strongly about Stanley Kubrick and Dario Argento as you do towards Lucas, but I am not so unstable mentally as to take personal offence and tear into people just because they don't agree with my views. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one- I'm not a Lucas fan. That wasn't an attack on you, Justin- get a fucking grip and get out of the house, see the sun, and don't take my opinion, or anybody elses, about a fucking FILMMAKER to whom you have no personal connection to heart.
