Vincent:

First off, I agree with what you said about Lucas. He is really into the digitla effects bit, and that's cool, but a more personal approach always works for me. I have read articles on Kubrick that portrayed him as cold, etc. That is an untruth...he LOVED the art of film, contributed gretaly to it, and if I am not mistaken, was a thoughtful, nice man.

I do NOT know Lucas. I loved the original SW, but I have seen and read many interviews with him..he comes off as cold and snobbish. We all are entitled to opinions, and this person had no right to blast yours. Now, a long time ago, you did rag on me for not liking a specific Kubrick film...but, whatever, you said it yourself.opinions are like assholes...

I really do not know how much, or if any money was given to you by Kevin for ABP. All I can do is offer my opinion. From all accounts, including the man himself, there would BE no VA, no Clerks, Rats,Amy, nor Dogma, had it not been for you. You answer many pedestrian Q's(And have over the years...) on this site. I am sure you got a nice check for the Rat's DVD, but it no doubt pales in comparison to the passion you poured into it, giving every Askewer the best DVD yet. Sounds like Dogma will be another great project. The fact is, I don't KNOW how much $$$ Kevin is worth. He isn't Elvis, I doubt he throws you a Cadillac every film...and I really think had the situation been reversed, and Kev need to finance "Clerks", and you could afford it, and believed in its merit, you would have helped in any way possible. This isn't getting a hand out..it is called a friendship, and a wise investment. If you did 'get' 40,000, I would say it was pretty well earned. Your insights and encouragment caused all of this. Furthermore, I hope Kev and VA produce your next films. By the same token, when you hit the artistic goldmine, I would hope you don't pack it up for a bigger studio. Maybe when you make it really big YOU will help an old friend out , and keep the good indie films coming. Sorry this flotsam questioned your integrity.

BTW-Thanks for the advice not to get the DVD player a few years back..."Laser will be dominent for quite awhile"...Well, I bought the DVD player,(I asked you whether to buy a second Laser or a DVD player...) and now I have 300 flicks. Your 'Rats is amongst them, and hopefully, ABP will be also.

So you were wrong. :-)

Thanks for all the answers to dumb ass Q's over the years, work on the films, and the honesty and integrity.

BTW-2 dumb ass Q's...
1. Are copies of ABP going to be for sale at the Stash, autographed? And is the 'graph on the disc or cover? Always wondered whether you guys opened them to sign..or whether they were signed, and you had to go buy a 2nd watchable copy...

2. Any word on Suspiria on DVD?
