: I read the "Dogma" script about a year and half ago and saw the film opening week. "Dogma" is a fine film, but it is flawed, as it dropped from the screenplay a line I have been waiting a year and half to hear. The line (at least in the version I read) was "Your God isn't dead, he's brain dead." This was probably one of the best timed lines in screenplay history. Why was this line dropped from the movie? Was it even filmed?
This occured during the scene when Serendipity was questioning the NoMan/Shit-Demon, right? Well, said scene was never filmed- it was going to be filmed during post-production (due to the effects involved), but after the first assembly of the film was put together WITHOUT this scene, it was decided that the NoMan interrogation scene wasn't needed, so it wasn't filmed. I think the film works fine without it, but do agree that there was some wonderful dialogue during this scene.
