I find it interesting that your list of European "filmmakers" is actually a list of European *novelists*..yes, great films were made out of Welsh's and Doyle's novels, and yes, Doyle did adapt or co-adapt his novels, but I wouldn't exactly put him on a list of filmmakers.

(By the way, the only way I can do a decent Scottish accent is if I read Welsh's TRAINSPOTTING out loud..."The sweat wis lashing ofay Sick Boy, he wis trEEmbling..."
