: I recently finished watching 'Clerks', 'Mallrats', and 'Chasing Amy'. I liked all three films immensely, and wanted to know who all was involved with it. So. . .I stayed through the credits.
: At the very end of 'Clerks,' it says "Jay and Silent Bob will return in 'Dogma.' At the very end of 'Chasing Amy,' it says "Jay and Silent Bob will return in 'Dogma'. . .(Prosmise)."
: My question is this. Did Kevin Smith want to do Dogma right after Clerks, and he couldn't, so the Dogma thing at the end of Clerks is a mistake. Or. . .was it inserted into the credits later? Thanks!
Yeah the first one's right. But it wasn't the time to do Dogma because Clerks was so huge and the next flick would be judged against it. Also, Grammercy (or whatever the hell name of the company that released Mallrats is), wanted to do something commercial, thus Mallrats (haha on their fat asses).
Or some shit like that. Forgive me if I mis-spoke. It's all in the board summeries (the truth, that is). You should read them, sometimes they're entertaining (but "Don't make me go loose" is NOT a New Kids' song!!!)
I, personally am glad he waited. That's because I love Mallrats and Chasing so much :) I wonder what direction he would have went in if he had done Dogma second. Would he have thrown in the towel because of all the catholic league shite or would his "little film" have gone unnoticed?
Oh well....
Waiting for the next appearence of Jay and Bob and hoping to meet Amy...
