: Please note that it is actually possible for a movie that the majority of :the public finds interesting to be a well done film. There is no law :against it. There seems to be a prevelant naive attitude that any :entertainment medium, be it music, movies or otherwise, that finds :commercial success and popularity is automatically unhip and produced only :for some sort of suburban WASP-ish, out-of-touch person.

Where did you get that 'prevalent attitude' from me? Fuck, I loved American Beauty, I loved Fight Club. Hardly flicks that weren't 'popular'. well, maybe the latter...but I think it'll find a nice cult following once it hits vhs/dvd. so get off your disillusioned high horse that's trying to perceive me as some half-wit that only wants Bruce Willis jumping out of exploding buildings. True that I am indeed a half-wit, but I DO know a good flick. So I disagreed about a movie that a lot of people seem to love. ...you gonna crucify me over that? Or maybe you didn't get that 'prevalent attitude' from me, but you decided to characterize me as such so that you'd be able to make a legitimate argument.

:I agree with Vincent in asking for specifics on the 90% question, and :offer my own interpretation of the 90% qualities that were missing from :the movie:

: The sixth sense had no:
: Car chases or explosions: 40%
: Nekkid chicks: 50%

: Which leaves about 10 % of actual story. See END OF DAYS for an example :of how to pad a script with explosions, breasts and guns properly.

Yes, cause that's all I was looking for, you snobby bastard. It also had:
a slow plot, in which not much happened.
characters I didnt care about.
and left me nothing that challenged my ideas.
