: : The year 1 is the FIRST year after the birth of Christ. The year 1 BC is the FIRST year before the birth of Christ. Just the same as the year between your birth and your first birthday is the FIRST year you were alive. It's amazingly simple. So simple only the massively retarded wouldn't be able understand it.

: and that year between your birth and your first birthday, how old are you? one? um, nope. you're ZERO until your first birthday.

You are never zero. Zero holds a place in a given digit where there is nothing, but is not in itself a number. You are at no point 0 per se. You are indeed zero complete years old, which is how we count that.

: ... same thing with the Millennium, moron.

In fact, it's not. We are in the midst of the 20th Century during the 1900s. Notice that it's the 20th, exactly like the first year of life issue that I brought up before.

Clearly, we can't say it's the change of the 20th century, can we? January 1, 2001 has to be the first day of the 21st century. There's no way to dispute that.

: also, for anyone else who argues in your favor, keep in mind the entire debate started from the ASSUMPTION that a historian made about the calendar.

I don't know what "assumption" you are referring to.

If you're referring to the birth of Christ, then it wasn't an assumption by an historian, it was a bad calculation by a pope. We continue to use that calendar and operate as if it were correct. We can as easily use the "Common Era" calendar measurement and say the 1 ACE is the first year of the Common Era, while the year 1 BCE is the first year prior to the Common Ere. It doesn't change the truth.

: Anyone with a brain (or a major in math or history) can tell you that mathemeticians were responsible for the calendar and everyt mathmetician knows that the integers are 0 - 9, NOT 1 - 10, so shut up about it jack ass.

History simply doesn't apply.

The third millennium of the Common Era doesn't begin until January 1, 2001. There's no way to make anything else make sense. None at all.
