: You are never zero. Zero holds a place in a given digit where there is nothing, but is not in itself a number. You are at no point 0 per se. You are indeed zero complete years old, which is how we count that.
actually, no. obviously you didn't take nay math classes in grade school. i shall educate the heathen. zero IS a number. it is the FIRST integer. this concept may go above you head but it's true. and yes, you are zero from the time of your birth until your first anniverssaire. like you admit, we customarily count FULL years when we count ages.
: In fact, it's not.
no, in your ignorant OPINION it's not. there is a difference between fact and the twisted workings of your easy to brainwash mind.
: We are in the midst of the 20th Century during the 1900s. Notice that it's the 20th, exactly like the first year of life issue that I brought up before.
: Clearly, we can't say it's the change of the 20th century, can we? January 1, 2001 has to be the first day of the 21st century. There's no way to dispute that.
yes there is. the years started with 0. therefore, this is the END of the 20th century.
: I don't know what "assumption" you are referring to.
: If you're referring to the birth of Christ, then it wasn't an assumption by an historian, it was a bad calculation by a pope. We continue to use that calendar and operate as if it were correct. We can as easily use the "Common Era" calendar measurement and say the 1 ACE is the first year of the Common Era, while the year 1 BCE is the first year prior to the Common Ere. It doesn't change the truth.
okay, this proves your ignorance further. what the fuck is ACE? the period before christ is Before Common Era or BCE. The Period after Christ is CE or Common Era. There is no ACE. And THAT calendar has a 0 in it. it's what we call the FOCAL year. much like a number line has a ZERO between the negative and the positive numbers.
: History simply doesn't apply.
: The third millennium of the Common Era doesn't begin until January 1, 2001. There's no way to make anything else make sense. None at all.
Right. Because you don't understand it and can never grasp the concept. Fine. I'm through arguing. I've been arguing about this all day with people a lot more intelligent than you seem, and they all had to bow to the truth eventually. Because they know when to give up a futile crusade. Obviously you don't. So go live in your "special" world and let us know when you feel like having a Millenium, kay?
