Hey, my name's Ted, and I found and read this terribly ignorant post about Kevin Smith at another message board at InsideTheWeb.com, and thought I would repost it here. Please share your thoughts and feelings about it:
"I think Kevin Smith is one of the most overrated, arrogant, unispired movie writers around today. Not only does he rely solely on countless sexual innuendo and pop-culture references to win his audience of stoners over, hes obviously very insecure about his weight, which explains the millions of jokes made about it to the character, Silent Bob.
Clerks and Mallrats are notorious for their piss-poor acting, and awkward, overly flamboyant dialogue... chasing amy, which had a great first half, end up being riduculously unbelievable at the end (asking his best friend to have sex with him... come-on!) And his latest, Dogma, while it had some decent things to say about organized religion... it was ruined with pointless plot twists (shit-monster?!), Jay and Silent Bob being main characters, Alanis Morrisette, and just a lot of really bad jokes. I agree that mallrats is the best of the bunch, since it doesnt try to have a messege, but instead was just non-stop hoodlum hijinks."
Obviously this guy does not know what he's talking about but I just wanted to post here to show how ignorant people can be sometimes, and judgemental without doing their research first (i.e. comming here to see how Kevin interacts with his fans and posting his real thoughts and facts of him and his films). The only reason I'm not saying the name of the person who posted the above message is because I don't think it is that important.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and Kevin if you read this please respond with your thoughts, even though I know you've delt with posts like the one above before.

P.S. I know I'll sound like another typical fanboy for saying this, but your films rule Kevin, keep up the great work! Can't wait for the Clerks Antimated Series!!
